I really hope I see some of these costumes tonight…

Picture 39

And yes, I realize it is not a coincidence that NBC throws together something with at least 5 costume choices two days before Halloween. That’s just good marketing, yeah?

While drinking my morning coffee & trying to figure out how to fix my Realistic MTA-8 radio (which cost $2.99 at a goodwill) so I can listen to public radio… I came across goodwill’s online store. Yikes. Bookmark & close. Bookmark & close. Bookmark & close.

I believe in Mr. Eaves

Robyn has a new font crush
I was complaining about the sudden ubiquity of Mrs. Eaves (really *pretty* serif typeface), and yes, it was one of those indie-snob complaints that might be better placed in HIgh Fidelity music-dork territory than font-dork territory.

And now –Zuzana Licko at Emigre brings us — MR. Eaves! He’s pretty too, but hopefully not so distinct that he stands out in a crowd. A strong, silent, slightly dickish Don Draper typeface.

Thanks for the head’s up Jim.

Do you have another opinion?

» Help name the new Douglas Coupland park

Cool. Stubbies & Corn Syrup park? Doug & Kathy’s? jPark? Don’t Fear The Gum Thief Greens? The Eleanor Rigby Memorial Park? All Families are Psych– ok ok… that one is a bit of a strecth.

Back to school means metaphorical closet cleaning… Here are some links

This is helpful for an overall digital system reorganization- the numbering seems a little hard to find things by keyword… but otherwise nice and clean – yay Chris Griffin!

GD Forum has a few ideas. For project-based physical notes/ephemera I use clear letter-sized poly envelopes, and the transfer them to a client’s file folder when the project is finished. Still trying to figure out structures for digital filing.

Right now I use

_Local Design Work

and each client gets their own subfolder

_LocalDesignWork/local.client/

and then projects

_LocalDesignWork/local.client/projectA/

And you can see how this gets unwieldy. Quickly.

Anyone have any tips they want to share?

Here is how my meandering coffee break has gone –

To start off — Canada + Airplanes because I went to see El Ten Eleven last night and spoke with Peter at the bar about bands named after airplanes… And then Herman mentioned that he was going to T-Dot on Thursday, (but I thought he said T-dog, and was thoroughly confused)… and just becuase I like that graphic for channel nine that RetroOntario uses

Which brought me to this, becuase of the Eye on Rochester connection (why aren’t THOSE on youtube?)

And since my water glass in my washroom says “Toronto, The People City”, I clicked this one out of sheer time-wastiness.

This is why I set a timer when I’m takin a break
